Green Motion Planet is going Airborne!

Dear readers and followers of Green Motion Planet,

My mission was always to be on the forefront of technology and new thought, looking for empty space, blue oceans, and solving real-world problems. One of the crucial problems, besides CO2 and other car-caused pollution, which we face globally, is traffic congestion, which again increases micro location pollution and causes delays, stress, and waste of energy. We, humans, need to get airborne in an urban environment, so to say "rise above" the problem of traffic congestion.

The aim of this blog is to promote such solutions. Join me, share your thoughts and add your comments, ideas, articles, and impressions.

I hope you will find a solution for your needs that will serve the rising market for flying traffic solutions and the related industry based on principles of sustainability and service.

The top of the pops EV charger

When it come s to owning an electric car the most important thing is to have it charged and ready for your next busy day or a weekend escape. And home charging is just one third of the cost of public chargers.

Upon long hours of testing and research author of the article decided that on the top of their list is ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 EV Charger.

Why this one?

ChargePoint, the big cheese in the electric charging world, has stations peppered all over the US. This bad boy smoothly merges into their app, linking you not just to their public stations but also letting you register your ride. And get this—it customizes how much juice your vehicle slurps up and how many EPA miles it gets. Fancy, right?

The app? It's a user-friendly wizard, showing off charge-rate graphs and dishing out the deets on your total charge time and energy chugged during each session. Plus, you can schedule your charging spree to cash in on those sweet off-peak electricity rates (something most EVs dream of having).

But hold your horses! The ChargePoint app takes the cake with its high-tech cost tracking. You can pick from a gazillion rate plans from your local utility, calculating your charging bill down to the cent, even on those ever-fluctuating rates. And hey, kudos for the nifty notch on the unit to wrap your cord around—no extra cord-wrangling gadgets needed here.

In a world of charging chaos, ChargePoint's got your back.

If you are looking for a fast, reliable, and easy-to-use charger for your EV, look no further than the ChargePoint Home Flex. It has everything you need to keep your battery full and your wallet happy. Plus, it comes with a 23-foot cord, which is long enough to reach your car even if you park it in your neighbor’s driveway. Just don’t tell them I said that. 😉

Technical features:

Output capability: 50/48/40/32/24/16 amps (12.0/11.5/9.6/7.7/5.8/3.8 kW)

Cord length: 23 feet

Cord management: Built in

Outdoor rating: Yes (NEMA 3R)

Note: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases if you decide to get this lovely piece of high end tech equipment for your EV through link provided. Thank you for being here and may your charging be low cost and uninterrupted.

Audi E-Tron sport back vs. Tesla model X

Audi e-tron, photo by audi-mediacenter.

In the late summer, we (Electrek) were given the keys to Audi’s second all-electric car, the E-Tron Sportback, and while there is much to admire, it has taken us a little longer than usual to broadcast. Why? Well, there has always seemed to be more affordable, and in turn more accessible, electric cars to talk about to the public, including the VW ID.4VW ID.3Honda eTesla Model Y, and most recently the Mazda MX-30.

Lightyear One - solar powered electric car

https://youtu.be/WEjQkkrsY5Y

Lightyear One has been engineered coming from a radically different perspective. Our performance pushes us to focus relentlessly on to optimize efficiency and safety. We started from scratch, following not convention but only the laws of physics, to get the most out of every joule of energy. Lightyear One will get to a range of 725 km on the WLTP cycle. We will guarantee at least 400km in winter, at highway speeds and with heating on. Mostly, range will be between 500 and 800 kilometers.

SEOUL/ZAGREB, May 14, 2019 — Hyundai Motor Group and Rimac Automobili (Rimac) have announced a strategic partnership aimed to strengthen the Group’s efforts to lead the high-performance electrified vehicle market and enhance its status as a game changer in Clean Mobility.

Under the new partnership, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Corporation will each invest EUR 64 million and EUR 16 million, respectively, for a total combined investment of EUR 80 million in Rimac. The companies will work closely together to develop prototypes for an electric version of Hyundai Motor’s N brand midship sports concept car and a high-performance fuel cell electric vehicle with the intent to bring them to market at a later time.

“Rimac is an innovative company with outstanding capabilities in high-performance electric vehicles,” said Euisun Chung, Executive Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group. “Its startup roots and abundant experience collaborating with automakers combined with technological prowess makes Rimac the ideal partner for us. We look forward to collaborating with Rimac on our road to Clean Mobility.”

“We are very impressed by Hyundai Motor Group’s vision as well as prompt and decisive initiative,” said Mate Rimac, Founder and CEO of Rimac Automobili. “We believe this technology partnership will create maximum value for our companies and their customers. Rimac is still young and relatively small but a fast-growing company. We see a strong investor and technology partner in Hyundai Motor Group and believe this collaboration will charge our position as a Tier-1 electrification components supplier to the industry.”

Rimac was founded in 2009 by Mate Rimac as a garage project in Croatia with the vision to build the sports car of the 21st century. It has since grown rapidly into a technology powerhouse, with its expertise ranging from high-performance electric powertrains to various control technologies and battery systems.

Hyundai Motor Group will leverage the partnership to build on its existing R&D capabilities to meet its electrification plan, which includes deployment of 44 eco-friendly models by 2025. On today's Sun, Friday 28 September of the Lord's summer 2018, this electric racing beast shone on Å trosmajerov trg in Zagreb: Rimac C Two Only a live experience can really convey the simultaneous controlled power, playfulness of lines, dominance of width and length, and yet a certain elegance of lines. Golden trim and aerodynamics, at the same time a retro experience like a Corvette, and futuristic like an aircraft from the future.

Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster leaves Earth with 'easter eggs'

February 7, 2018
— Starman is traveling through the solar system, riding in the driver's seat of a midnight cherry Tesla Roadster with the top down.

The improbable, if also surreal scene, captured in a video broadcast back to Earth, unfolded live on Tuesday evening (Feb. 6) as a finale to SpaceX's maiden launch of its Falcon Heavy rocket. The car served as a mass simulator, taking the place of a real payload given the risks that the test flight might have failed.

Tesla Team of Croatia drives Rally Budapest (Hungary) - Bamako (Mali)

Team Tesla - powered by RWE Croatia reached $6000 + funding goal on Indiegogo as part of fund raising for their participation in Rally Budapest (Hungary) - Bamako (Mali).

Oleg Mastruko (author, photographer and BUG and MREZA magazine contributor) and Sasa Cvetojevic (entrepreneur and electric car enthusiast) will drive 8629 km long amateur rally which can be compared to Paris - Dakar.

Budapest - Bamako is rather Rally for regular people with irregular intentions. Start is on January 12 and planned completion on January 28, 2018.

Green Motion Planet will follow this electric car Team on their journey as they drive Model X. This will be great test for purely electric vehicle made by Tesla Motors and even bigger test of will and stamina for the Team.

Team Tesla Croatia - Oleg Mastruko and Sasa Cvetojevic

A word from Drivers:

Hi, this is a campaign to get funding for Team Tesla Powered by RWE for Budapest - Bamako rally, largest amateur rally in the world. We plan to go with Tesla X fully electric car!

Main sponsor of our project is, quite fittingly, energy company RWE, Croatian branch of the innogy group, one of the leading energy companies in Europe. In Croatia, they are mostly known as electricity and gas providers.

The project is in Croatian, because we plan to write travelogue in Croatian language, for our Croat readers (and others who understand Croatian). We will also post high quality photos. So, since photos do not require any translation – if you like nice photos and/or electric cars you can support the campaign too....

The rally itself is challenging enough, but to go with the electric car makes it almost completely crazy. Check out the video above, with the rough route shown. Follow, and of course participate in this campaign! As the campaign draws to a close, we will publish the name of the Facebook group and the media outlets that will be used to publish the photos, stories and news from Team Tesla Powered by RWE. Thanks!

Oleg & Sasa

VW Camper Van is returning

VW Camper Van is returning, but you won't believe what they've done to it

VW I.D. Buzz                             Photo credit: Car Magazine

VOLKSWAGEN is bringing back the iconic T1 Camper Van in 2022, but the new model will be an electric, self-driving version called the I.D Buzz.

Volkswagen is bringing back its van back in 2022 – but not quite how you’d imagine.
As part of VW’s new I.D electric car range they are manufacturing the Buzz, a microbus concept, which is based on the famous T1, T2 and T3 Campers "hippy mobile".
was unveiled earlier this year, but now it has been confirmed the vehicle will enter production in 2022.
The I.D Buzz will both be electric-powered and have a degree of autonomy.
Whether the car will be fully autonomous by 2022 or just have certain self-driving features has not been confirmed.

Electric car brand Rimac Automobili teases new supercar

Following on from the Rimac Concept One, the new hypercar is a game changer, says Rimac.

Croatian electric supercar maker Rimac has given us the first indication of the shape its second generation hypercar will take when it arrives as the follow-up of the Concept One.

Rimac has given us little more than a dark silhouette to work with but we can see from the teaser that the new car is still obviously a supercar in form, featuring a recognisable mid-engined car shape and aggressive aero. Unlike the sleek Concept One, the first thing we can see is a rear wing and deeper front splitter. Looking closely at the image, it is also possible to see production car-like mirrors, usually a tell-tale sign of whether a car being shown is a concept or production car.

Mini's all-electric car brings a new charge to an old classic

Mini electric                                      Photo by BMW GROUP

Mini is making big moves in the electric car world and is introducing a fully-electric concept vehicle sporting the automaker's signature look with a few next-gen flourishes.
The new EV design, which is called the Mini Electric Concept (at least for the time being), was unveiled at the IAA Cars 2017 event in Munich. The small car is designed for short city drives, according to the copmany, and is meant to offer a new zero-emissions option for urban dwellers.

Mini's parent company BMW Group aims to put the Concept design on the road in 2019, joining industry rivals like Tesla and GM with more accessible EV options for the driving public. The new design is the first truly all-electric car from Mini meant for mass production, although the automaker does offer electrified versions of a few of its current models.
